Scotland still can dream

After the first tricky ‘double whammy’ in the Euro2008 group of death, Scotland are still in it. Thanks to a priceless Gary Caldwell goal against the French at Hampden, Scotland get 3 points from 6. Although the result was tainted by the second match were Shevchenko got confused thinking he was in an Olympic swimming pool and not in the Olympic stadium, such was his diving. Can’t complain too much about the result as Scotland will have to attack more in away games to Italy and France if only to give the defence a respite. However my attempts to complain (drunkenly rant in an email) to UEFA about the referee and Shevchenko after the match were fruitless. But all in all the trip to Hampden was easliy one of the best games of my life, never seen so many happily bewildered Scots after the final whistle.
